Meet our founder
Charles Hill, AIGP — Founder & Principal
Charles brings more than 30 years of experience building and leading data and AI governance programs for global enterprises, including establishing worldwide privacy, data stewardship and governance organizations.
Before founding Information Governance Strategies in 2019, Charles spent more than 25 years in senior roles at IBM. Most recently, he was Global Executive Director and Head of Information Governance in IBM’s Global Chief Data Office, where he led the company’s worldwide GDPR compliance program and built its ongoing data privacy organization. He also designed the governance behind IBM’s enterprise data lake for analytics and AI, and led global data transformation teams across the United States, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America.
Today, Charles brings those lessons to growing businesses, helping them put practical guardrails around AI and data without the bureaucracy of a large enterprise program.
